Joshua Stringer is a mixed media artist living in Salem, Oregon.  He received his BFA in painting and printmaking from Southern Oregon University in 2005.  Since then his work has evolved to become centered on collage techniques with a minimalist aesthetic.  This reflects his interest in contemplative spirituality and the aesthetics of wabi-sabi. His thoughtfully spare, yet beautiful work incorporates found images and materials, dried plants, watercolor paint, cut paper, thread, and pencil drawing.

Stringer was represented by the prestigious Davis and Cline Gallery in Ashland, Oregon until the gallery’s closing in 2013.  He is currently represented by the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery in Salem, Oregon (marylouzeekgallery.com).  His work has been included in group and solo exhibitions in galleries, universities, and museums in Oregon, Washington, California, and New Hampshire.  In 2013 a portfolio of his work was featured in Kolaj Magazine, a contemporary fine art collage magazine published by Maison Kasini in Montreal.
